singing: so long, farewell…..

this is to be the last post
adieu goodbye
and now I’ll tell you why

Did you read that to music? (pick the movie Kate!)

This is the final day of The Year I Blogged.

I am renowned for having ideas, lots of ideas, moving on to new things and to be honest, I’ve done well to stick at something almost daily for a year. Apart from marriage and parenthood, which you just can’t walk away from, I’ve never really stuck at something for too long. Precious few employers kept my paychecks coming for longer than a year. In our first twelve years of marriage we lived in eleven homes. We started gardening….and stopped….and started….and stopped….and started again….and now blog about it. I sewed…and stopped….and have started sewing again. We’ve jumped on and off a number of healthy eating bandwagons. I’ve started scrapbooking and struggle to make time for it. I’ve endeavoured to read at least a book a week…and am now blogging that journey too. We’re planning our Round The World Adventure, and as the time for departure draws closer (but still very far away!), I imagine that will swallow more and more time.

So I have decided.
Not quite to stop blogging. But almost.
The kids’ stuff that I *really* want to remember I will pop on their inventions and adventures blog.
I’ll wander Up the Garden Path if anything happens that might help me in my post-travelling-self-sufficient-dream. Then once we hit the road, we’ll work on Pilgrims’ Progress.
This blog has been a place to gather ideas and think and try out various voices and record *stuff*. Now it’s simply going to be a meeting place for my photos. I’ll update the albums occasionally (and fill in the junk journal as necessary – I ahve a son who is holding me to that one!) These past few weeks I’ve enjoyed *looking for God’s gifts* and I’m going to continue this until I get to one thousand over here. I’m also going to continue to take books off the shelf. Which simply means less intricate writing.

Fare thee well, good friends.

i am really gonna miss tripping inside your head in such an intricately simple space Rach, i have LOVED this last year: loved your meanderings, savoured your stories, boggled my brain with your thinks, been inspired by your craftiness, treasured our swaps, giggled at our grammar, becoming eduKATEd with you in all things HTML and bloggy.

    *throws another tanty*
*goes off in search of Rach’s Other Blogs (ROB bwahahahaha) and adds them to bloglines*

love you Bears – forever X

I for another will miss reading the comings, goings and doings of your family – but I totally understand what a commitment your blogging has been. Congrats for keeping it up so long. I’ll look in on PP to try to keep up with what you are doing.

Ditto what the others have said.

It has been nice getting to know you (as much as one can through a blog) Rach.

    God bless
    Tara

I’ve loved reading your blog. You launched into blogging as I launched into my first year of being a mum, and I’ve come here for inspiration and entertainment and sometimes sanity. I’ve found less time for the computer recently – the call of the garden or the sewing machine or the kitchen (pickle at the moment) and of course my wee girl has been stronger and I’ve been visiting less. I was sad to see that you won’t be posting here any more (although I see there are two more ‘last posts’ already!), but I think I’ve turned a corner in my life too, and I am already anticipating the good things on your other blogs!
